Re: Seattle Police Release Second Dashcam Video Of Woodcarver's Shooting
I totally agree and I believe that the majority of folks who read about this fatal shooting would agree as well. This was unjustified and he should face charges. The wood carver was half his size and was inebriated too.It is my experience that people who are inebriated are easily taken down. This person posed no real threat to the officer.Backup should have been called and they could have used a billy club to knock the knife out of his hand.I do wonder how big this knife was. Was it a pocket knife? If so, those of us who carry pocket knives better switch to nail clippers.I'll guarantee you all there are plenty officers like this one who will be trigger happy when the same situation arises.Better think before you react. When you react,be verbal about what you intend to do. |

Re: Seattle Police Release Second Dashcam Video Of Woodcarver's Shooting
It's not a "what if" in the case, because the man was partially deaf. And he did turn to find out what the yelling was about and then got shot five times. He had NO time to respond. He did not attack. He was not threatening the officer. Saying he posed a threat is a red herring and meant to confuse the public. EVERYONE poses a threat. Everyone who is using a car poses a threat. Under this justification a person who is in a restaurant cooking can be shot for holding a knife.
