Sept. 23, 2008 A police chase that started in Greenfield, Indiana came to a crashing halt in a Henry County restaurant.
A boarded-up window at the Gas Grill Restaurant SR 109 north of Knightstown is all that remains from the crash overnight.
Police say a man called them from I-70, saying he was being followed after a road rage incident on the highway.
He told police he would meet them at the Holiday Inn on SR 9 in Greenfield. When police arrived, they found only one car, the driver of which sped away back toward the interstate.
The police dash cam video shows the car taking off and then heading east on I-70.
The chase reached speeds of between 60 and 80 mph. Police used stop sticks but the suspect kept going with flat tires.
The driver turned around in the median and headed west on I-70.
He went down the embankment and eventually hit the Gas Grill Restaurant window, with his vehicle going partially into the building.
The dash cam video shows the suspect getting out of his vehicle and running into the restaurant.
Officers run after him and the suspect is hearing yelling as officers use a Taser to subdue him.
The suspect was taken to Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield to be examined.
