Police Looking for Teenagers Who Beat Man on a City Bus

Austin Police need the public to help them locate three teenagers who beat and injured a man on a Capital Metro bus on Saturday night, August 9th.

The victim, whose name is not being released, was standing in the front of a crowded bus when the attacks happened.

The bus became packed with teenagers when it loaded up passengers at a bus stop at Highland Mall.

At one point in the video captured by bus surveillance cameras, one of the teens provoked the victim by picking at his baseball cap.

The real trouble began however as the teenagers began to get off of the bus at Rogge Lane and Manor.

One by one, the three young suspects took turns punching the victim in the face as they got off of the bus.

Police say the victim didn't know the young men and say the attack was apparently unprovoked.

During the attacks one of the cameras captured a woman standing in a seat in an attempt to block the camera's view of the crime.

Shortly after the victim is punched, he sits down in a seat to wipe away blood. Police say he lost several teeth in the attack.

Detectives are hoping the dozens of witnesses who were on the bus at the time will come forward with information.

All of the suspects are black men believed to be in their late teens or early twenties.

Any tip leading to an arrest or conviction could mean a reward of up to one thousand dollars.
