Police arrested a suspected intoxicated man outside a bar in Daytona Beach Shores on Oct. 27 after responding to concerns that he might drive.

Officers found the man sitting in his car with his keys in his lap. He refused to hand over the keys and argued with officers, who offered to help him get a ride home. Officers tried calling family members and offered to charge his phone. They warned him that he could be arrested for DUI even if he had not driven. The encounter ended with the man in handcuffs.
