A motorcyclist recorded his wild ride through Philly as a helicopter hovered above him in what Philadelphia Police called a potentially deadly ride. The rider’s top speed was 130 mph in a 35 mph zone.

He is a longtime Philly resident who regularly rides through the city late at night. He recorded himself with a GoPro camera last September as he rode along Kelly Drive shortly before midnight.

He was riding to get a drink from a gas station. In the parking lot, he noticed the helicopter began pointing a laser at him The GTA inspired ride ensued.

He wasn’t positive that it was a police helicopter hovering above him at that point because he couldn’t make out any markings. He also said he was shocked by how close the chopper got to the gas station as it continued to hover above him. "At one point he wasn’t even 100 feet from the roof of the Sunoco," the motorcyclist said.

He concluded that it was a police helicopter and he waited at a red light expecting police cruisers to pull him over. When he didn’t see any response on the ground however from police cruisers, he sped off when the light turned green. The heli continued to hover over him.

The rider believed the heli pilot was being overly aggressive, He would have stopped if the pilot had signaled for him to do so or if he had seen police cruisers.

Had law enforcement used patrol cars in conjunction with the heli, the rider could possibly had been caught.

Yeah, I've never understood people endangering innocent people with stupid stunts. Hopefully this idiot makes himself highway scrapings without involving anyone one else.

I agree, however, traffic was pretty light. It is cool to see somebody outrun the cops once in a while.

I have a big respect for law enforcement but more times than not the people wearing the badge are as fucked up as anyone only with a bad attitude and a god complex. I’m glad they’re there to “keep the peace” but FUCK THE POLICE!

I’m glad he got away.

Seeing the video here and knowing it was found on the web isn’t the brightest move if you’re evading. If found by the wrong folks could end up being used as evidence against him.

Much need for a helicopter to even be in the air at that time burning up tax payer dollars in fuel for no apparent reason?
