MDSO Deputy Shoots Woman With Knife During Bathroom Call
On Feb. 7, 2026, MDSO deputies responded to a call about a woman in a bathroom. The caller said her mother was whimpering, had hurt or cut herself, and needed help. A deputy called for the woman to come outside and said fire rescue was outside. The woman gave her name as Karen and said there was no more help and she could not deal with it anymore. Deputies told Karen to drop the knife and get back. During the encounter, a deputy-involved shooting occurred. The audio includes an officer saying she had something in her neck.
