Man Hacked Near Death By Gang
Man Hacked Near Death By Gang A 40 years old man fatally slashed a group of four men armed with machetes in Chempa Lorong Raja Uda here, this morning. In the 4.30am incident, the victim was severed in the hands, body, head and feet after being hacked a group of men who had come by car.  Police said the victim and his friend had just come out of a shop there and sitting on the motorcycle before the suspect approached. The suspect driving the Perodua Myvi concerned came from behind and hit the motorcycle causing him to fall. Friends victim managed to escape but failed after falling during a stampede due respect.  Four suspects came out of the car and hacked the victim several times. Police said the suspects then fled the assistance of another suspect who was waiting in the car. The victim was severe and is currently receiving treatment at the Hospital (HSJ). |

I think you need to change the highlighted text above to "near-fatally" for this article to make sense. From the rest of the article, it sounded like the bloke surived.
