the only news articles i could find state that the guy survived, although they were all printed on the date of the incident, so maybe he has since died.

Officers responded to the Parkway Express Gas Station at the corner of S. Parkway East and Mississippi Blvd. for a shooting. When police arrived, officers found one person shot near the business and that person was taken to Regional One in critical condition.

Victim went from critical to stable condition later on. Bet they knew each other. Extremely lucky to survive that.

He was shot directly to the back of his head which is where the visual cortex is. The bullet didn’t pass through his brain but I doubt he’ll ever see again. He’s most likely blinded for life now.

Well, there's also the face that his face was covered in blood. That was probably also impairing his vision.
