Re: Iowa State Police Lets Fellow Officer Off the Hook for Speeding
I don't know about the US, but in the UK Officers use discretion during any case, Police officer or not. Factors such as how bad the infringement is, how busy the road is, previous ad driving history, criminal history and attitude all get taken into account. I don't know many officers that would let anybody off for that kind of speed, Police or not. He should have known better.

Re: Iowa State Police Lets Fellow Officer Off the Hook for Speeding
My brother used to be a New York State Prison Guard and had a badge in his wallet. When he would get pulled over he would open his wallet in front of the cop to get his license and inevitably the cop would see his badge and let him go.

Re: Iowa State Police Lets Fellow Officer Off the Hook for Speeding
is it legal? fuck no. is it standard procedure? hell yes. if the guy isn't responding to a police call, and speeding(grossly) in a vehicle without safety strobes flashing, then you're damn right it is illegal. |
