Cycling 15-year-old Boy Stabbed to Death During Bike Theft
Detectives today said an 18-year-old and 17-year-old were being quizzed after Alan cartwright was stabbed to death while he cycled in north London.
Alan's family yesterday appealed for witnesses to come forward after the schoolboy was killed on Friday in what was described as a "senseless" attack.
Alan Cartwright was attacked as he was cycling on Caledonian Road in Islington with friends at around 7.30pm on Friday night.
The group were confronted by three men who knifed Alan then stole two bikes before fleeing.
After being attacked, Alan managed to continue on for a short distance before collapsing on the pavement in front of horrified onlookers.
Despite the efforts of paramedics who carried out CPR on the street, Alan died from his injuries.
The tragedy is the third to hit the Islington community in just five months.
Police yesterday released shocking CCTV footage showing the moment the 15-year-old was stabbed.
Alan's mother and sister described the Army cadet and Celtic and Arsenal fan as a "joker" who loved bikes and never caused any trouble.
Fighting back tears, Alan's mother Michelle Watson, 39, said: "He always made you laugh about anything and everything. He was just the funny one out of his friends. ... |
