Do you think that clears him of wrong doing? Only legal reason to shoot is fear of serious bodily injury or death to yourself or others. When you fear for your life/ the quality of your life moving forward, you shoot to stop a threat. No serious self-defense training will ever teach you to shoot anywhere besides the central nervous system (chest/head). Assuming he meant to shoot her in the leg, that choice of target suggests this officer did not seriously fear for his life/ well being.

It's clear that you don't know what you are talking about.  What you can convince a jury about is always in question. The cop did right. Someone with a stabbing instrument in hand (screwdriver/knife) is capable of covering roughly 20 feet in about the time the average officer can get his service weapon out of his holster and fire. The cop was wise not to hesitate. The jury was full of idiots. |
