Hartsville, SC, Darlington County police is investigating a deadly crash after a minivan struck a police car Tuesday night during a high-speed chase.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol began chasing the suspect when he turned around and left a traffic checkpoint at 11 p.m.
Troopers chased the suspect and the suspect eventually crashed into a Hartsville Police car.
The suspect was taken to a local hospital where he later died.
The man was identified as Leroy Roberson, 51, of Lynchburg.
The Hartsville officer involved in the crash was treated and released from a local hospital.
