Warwickshire, UK A robber who threatened a terrified bookmaker staff with a pair of garden shears was send to prison for four and a half years.
Leigh Barry, 28, was caught on CCTV trying to break security glass with first a brick, then a chair.
Despite his relentless attempts to get through to the counter Barry clearly didn't have the strength to break the glass and instead settled for a handful of pound coins.
As he went to leave the dropped most of the coins and spent several time picking them off the floor
Passers-by dialled 999 after seeing him run out of the bookies and into a nearby shop - minutes later officers swooped and arrested him on suspicion of robbery.
On October 11 at Warwick Crown Court he was jailed for 18 months over the botched raid.
Barry was also handed a further 3 years over his part in a bank robbery in Warwickshire in June 2012.
