April 27, 2024. Jamauri D. Griffin was shot by the officers during a domestic disturbance at a house in the 4700 block of Santala Drive just before 7:50 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, the Knoxville Police Department said.

In the video, you can see KPD Officers Hunter Powers and Cayden Riddle arrive at the home in response to a domestic disturbance and hear the female victim, Winter Basurto, in distress. The officers then enter the home.

Almost immediately after entering the house and announcing who they are, Griffin shoots Basutro in the face. The officers immediately open fire on Griffin and kill him. The woman was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Records show that KPD responded to the same address Feb. 7 regarding a domestic disturbance. During that incident, Griffin fired a gun multiple times at Basurto's rear driver's side tires while she tried to get away from him after he became agitated.

Wish they didn't censor the aftermath of the faceshot. It's always kind of cool to see someone with their jaw shot off, or nearly so... unless it's a total innocent and a random act act of senseless violence, then I hate watching it. But... she knew he was a violent bastard and what he was capable of and yet she stayed
