FATAL: Hostage Holder Gets HEADSHOTTED by Kern County PD
February 9, 2022. The videos show deputies responding to apprehend Deven Karl Moore, 25 on Pierce Road. Reports of Moore holding a knife and a sledgehammer from eyewitnesses prompted the response from KCSO. Moore broke windows in the area and threatened people with the deadly weapons. Shortly after, Moore did not respond to the deputies' call to drop a fire extinguisher. Moore is seen on camera using the fire extinguisher to hide his movements, when he retreats to a business nearby and enters a guard shack, and deputies surround the shack. In the videos, Moore is seen taking an elderly guard hostage. That's when a KCSO deputy fires his gun at Moore, killing him. The hostage was unharmed during the shooting, according to KCSO. |

Nice shooting, officer. The training and range time kicked right in with that team. Excellent footage of shooting from 2 perspectives. Even has sun shadow silhouettes of the second cop holding shoulder of shooting cop. |

Re: FATAL: Hostage Holder Gets HEADSHOTTED by Kern County PD
I was also impressed with old turban man grabbing the knife hand and fighting for his own life. Kept the bad guy occupied, prevented using the old man as a compliant body shield, and gave the cops a clear target of the bad guy. Too many people these days become compliant when threatened, but not old turban man. He's probably done this before. |
