Edward Sullivan repeatedly rammed a ute driven by former police officer Ken Olsen on Beenleigh-Redland Bay Road at Cornubia, Queensland, on December 15, 2012. Sullivan, driving a black Nissan Navara, struck Olsen's vehicle several times before stopping, running back, vaulting over the bullbar onto the bonnet and punching through the windscreen. Olsen's dash camera recorded the confrontation. No one was injured, and no assault or bodily-harm charge was filed.

Sullivan, 21, of Carbrook, handed himself in on December 20. He was charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and wilful damage. A woman who had been riding in the Navara was not charged. Sullivan first appeared in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on January 14, 2013, when the matter was adjourned. In late May or early June 2013, he received two years' probation, a six-month driver's licence disqualification and an order to pay more than $17,000 in restitution. He did not receive a custodial sentence.
