Cayto Rivers, 21, the Dallas rapper known as FBG Murda, was shot at Zak Muffler's Shop in the 1000 block of East Irving Boulevard in Irving, Texas, at about 2:30 p.m. on August 26, 2025. Security footage shows Rivers standing inside the business and counting money. Two people entered through the shop door and opened fire, striking Rivers in the back. The recording ends shortly after the shots are fired and does not show what followed.

Irving police said Rivers and Elijah Jacobs, 21, had entered a restricted area of the business and refused to leave when confronted. Police said the men became verbally aggressive and brandished firearms before the owners restrained them. As Rivers and Jacobs tried to flee in a vehicle while dragging one of the owners, a firearm discharged and struck Rivers, police said. Police have not said who fired the shot that struck him. Both men were charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Jacobs was booked into jail, while Rivers was hospitalized and was to be booked after receiving medical clearance.

A statement from the Irving PD sent to the Observer describes the rapper, although he was shot, not as the victim, but as a suspect.

"Preliminary investigation revealed that a dispute between two customers (suspects) and the business owners (victims) escalated into a physical altercation," the statement reads.

"The suspects had entered a restricted area of the muffler shop. When confronted and asked to leave, they became verbally aggressive and brandished firearms.

To prevent the suspects from drawing their weapons, the victims physically restrained them. During the struggle, the suspects threatened to shoot the victims. As one victim held onto a suspect, the suspects attempted to flee in a vehicle, dragging the victim alongside. During this altercation, a firearm was discharged, and one suspect was struck."

According to police, the suspects who fled the scene were identified as Elijah Jacobs, 21, and the one who was shot as Rivers aka RBG Murda. Officers took the rapper to a hospital for treatment, and Jacobs was booked into jail. FBG Murda remains hospitalized and will be booked into jail once medically cleared.

To be clear, the Irving PD lists FBG Murda as a suspect in this case, and not a victim. He and Jacobs are charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
