A police pursuit of a man driving a silver Corvette came to violent end Friday night in Downtown Los Angeles.

The chase began with East L.A. sheriff's deputies around 9 p.m. near Firestone Boulevard in South Gate.

The man, who at times was driving without his headlights on, was being pursued for reckless driving and possible DUI, according to sheriff's officials.

At one point, deputies backed off the Corvette and allowed the department's airship to follow the car through Huntington Park, South Gate and Walnut Park.

Here is an update, I may have been a communication issue. A officer or officers may have fired a beanbag round and other officers mistook it for him firing shots and returned fire. This is clearly an accidental shooting, but nonetheless it shouldn't be taken lightly.

Lawsuit and pay day inbound.

He was unarmed and the only reason all the LEOs opened fire was because the LEO with the bean bag shotgun either didn't scream loud enough that it was being used or they didn't hear him.........causing everyone with a glock in their hands to mag dump the driver.......who had both his hands up and his back to LEOs.

The Police flying through them too chasing hardly helps that arguement.

Ploice should ONLY chase if a violent felony has been committed otherwise it is not worth the risk to the public IMHO
