Oh I don't know. There's a certain satisfaction in shooting a bad guy that has it coming. It kind of stops that crime and if you're lucky, all of that bad guy's future crimes as well. So there's that. Now before you put down clubbing a bad guy...there's a great deal of personal satisfaction in putting a finely turned hardwood baton to a bad guy's thick noggin. It takes a great deal of skill to lay wood on someone and not outright kill them or cause permanent injury...call it professional pride. I think beating the living snot out of a righteous crook is a rite of passage for young officers that a Taser simply can't compare with. Sometimes old school is better. |
