China White is notorious for causing outbreaks of OD's among heroin addicts. It's an analogue of fentanyl, which is different from diacetyl morphine (heroin). Fentanyl has much stronger analgesic effects, but from what I hear from opiophiles, the ride is different. Either you like it or you don't, but I suspect it isn't as good as hydromorphone (dilaudid) or heroin. Most folks I've encountered abusing fentanyl can't get fucked up on anything else. And given the potency of fentanyl and its analogues, they're playing with death at that point.

But back to China White. 30564U can probably lend anecdotal experience/stories about that drug. But from my readings, China White would often hit the street and be sold as heroin. Since fentanyl is much stronger (in terms of analgesia and other effects) than heroin, addicts would unwittingly shoot up with the same amount of CW as they did heroin. Then they'd turn purple and die from respiratory depression. Kind of like a "hot shot", only you're shooting hand-grenades rather than the matches you're used to.

There were all sorts of rumors among police officers, community rebel rousers, the media, and zany politicians, that during the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles, there had been a "shipment" of extremely potent "China White" (or substitute any other opiate or mixture) that had been allowed to "slip through" (the agency was never ID'd, but assumed to be, DEA, Customs, LAPD, LASD, CA DOJ, etc.) and killed a lot of Herion addicts (numbers vary from 50 to 500 deaths). No one was able to confirm anything, but the rumors persist even today. I do remember the burglary rates dropped like 75% right before, during, and shortly after the Olympics and there were a noticeable number of hypes that did expire around that time...but there could be several reasons other than overdoses. As I can recall, the idiot leftwing LA City Counselwoman Maxine Waters (the knuckle head responsible for the crack cocaine/CIA/Contra fake scandal) was also the one responsible for these rumors as well...she was always an idiot shit stirrer conspirisist looking for a cause (or excuse). Sorry, but just more inane trivia from my brain vault.

I was in the hospital and they put me on Dilaudid with a Fentanyl patch. The Dilaudid was fucking amazing at killing the pain for about an hour and a half to two hours. I'd have to wait 4 hours to get shot up again.

I've never been into recreational drugs and have no desire to take it now that I'm not in severe pain, but I do think back fondly on it and am very grateful that it was available to me.

Fucking amazing.
