Drunk Human Taco on Skateboard Hits a Car

Newport and Wilkes were drinking on Saturday afternoon when they decided to promote the Brooklyn bar’s happy hour special, Wilkes said. They headed to the bridge, and Newport sped down the pedestrian walkway that spills onto Bedford Avenue.

Wilkes, who was positioned at the bottom, was slightly concerned, but reasoned, “he was a professional skateboarder when he was 16, he knows what he’s doing…it will be okay.”

“But as soon as he passed me I was like, ‘Oh shit,'” he said.

The video shows an enormous human taco barreling down the steep ramp, towards the camera. He then passes the camera and rushes into traffic, hitting a light green car.

It looks like it could have been extremely painful and dangerous, but apparently Newport “took a tumble, stood up immediately, and was super stoked and was cracking up.”

Newport estimates that he reached 15 miles per hour. When he exited the ramp he said he “couldn’t see anything.” Aside from a scratch on his hand, he was fine, but the board was broken.

The driver, too, seemed okay — just a little shocked. Wilkes paraphrased the driver as saying, “I have no idea what happened to me because a taco in a skateboard just crashed into me.”

When asked if he would have crashed into the car had he not been drunk, Newport said, “I wouldn’t have put that suit on if I had not been drinking.”

“I pre-gamed for 3 hours,” he said, laughing.

The drunk taco confirmed that he got paid for the gig, but wouldn’t disclose how much. He did, however, get a promotion thanks to the stunt.

He plans to do something similar again. “It worked out great, I can’t wait to do it again,” he said. “I probably won’t get hit by a car, but I will risk my life.”
