The lightning fast reaction from a burn or similar acute pain is due to auto receptors in the nerve cells. When the hot liquid hit him - he didn’t have to think ‘Gee - I should move away”, his auto receptors told his brain directly - “MOVE”. Same as when you burn your finger… |
