Tiger I (Panzerkampfwagen VI) in German World War II Field Footage
Tiger I production ran from 1942 until about August 1944, and the heavy tank first saw combat near Leningrad in autumn 1942. It was also designated the Panzerkampfwagen VI. The period German footage shows Tiger I tanks operating in the field. One tank carries heavy foliage camouflage with two crewmen riding on top, while another crosses open ground between young trees. German officers and crew are also shown gathered around a map. A composed newsreel shot shows a Tiger I firing beneath a foreground gun barrel. |
