Gross-Rosen Concentration Camp Photos, Rogoznica, Poland, 1940-1945
The SS established Gross-Rosen in 1940 as a subcamp of Sachsenhausen at a granite quarry in Lower Silesia. The camp, now at Rogoźnica, Poland, became independent in 1941 and developed into a network of at least 97 subcamps. Prisoners were subjected to forced labor in the quarry, camp construction and German industry. About 120,000 people passed through the Gross-Rosen system, and at least 40,000 died in the camps or during evacuations. On January 1, 1945, the system held 76,728 prisoners, including nearly 26,000 women. Soviet forces liberated the main camp on February 13, 1945. The photographs include the Gross-Rosen gatehouse, barracks, construction work, the granite quarry, an ash pit, crematorium remains and a portrait of commandant Arthur Rödl. Two period views show the Görlitz-Biesnitzer Grund subcamp rather than the main camp. Modern photographs show the reconstructed fence and the museum gatehouse with a gallows. |

I have some of Gross Rosen but I don't think I've got anything you haven't... The Yellow Star doc? It's pretty cool... It's about the persecution of the Jews from 1933 - '45... Will try and see if I can get it uploaded tomorrow |
