I heard about the brain swelling, but I didn't know about the water. Horrible way to die all around.

Looking at the wreckage of the vehicle, I think they did a rather good job at "fixing" them for the funeral.

I'm surprised they were able to have an open casket. They both could have used a lot more cosmetics to conceal the bruising though.

Can be a hard one, often cosmetics applied to cases like this believe it or not can make them look a lot worse. Especially out in the open in direct sunlight. Different story if confined to a viewing room in a funeral home where you should be able to manipulate or dim the lights slightly. Even then it can be very difficult. Its about weighing things up. Sometimes cosmetics can work wonders, but don't assume they are a definite go to in cases like this. Communicate with the family. Often the better choice is to have them viewed in a more natural state as opposed to being plastered in cosmetics. Not always though. But id say more often than not. As above culture and custom can play a big part as well

What would you have done in a case like this if the viewing was at a funeral home? Have you ever presented someone like this without cosmetics? How did people respond?

She died in her sleep. I would be happy to go that way.
