I've been able to watch pretty much everything on here and hardly ever bat an eye, but this one really made me tear up. I did a search and came up with a few links about Jessica Laren Harris and her life.

When she was around 15-16, her parents sent her to a supposed camp for wayward and at risk teens. The camp she attended was very controversial because of accusations of negligence and sexual abuse against campers. It was basically a prison.

This last one is from Jessica's mom, and it's the hardest to read, because she talks about how something was wrong with her daughter and how they had to correct her until she saw what was right (religion).

It's mentioned in her mother's speech that Jessica was left alone at home for an extended period of time when they knew she was at risk and seriously depressed. Her mother also alludes to the fact that Jessica probably did in fact hang herself but didn't die immediately. She lived for at least another 24 brain-dead hours so that the whole family could visit her body and they could all be there when they pulled the plug. Then they all paraded around her corpse and had much fun choosing what to bury her in. Brutal.

When people die in Russia they go to the morgue. Legally they only have to dress the corpse. Funeral homes are rare in Russia, so embalming and everything else depends on what friends and family do themselves or hire morgue workers to do. Morgue workers can make several times their salaries from embalming and other services. Cavity embalming is a common option, with full embalming being more rare.

In this case she was probably cavity embalmed, otherwise things would probably have been much worse.

Poor child, she was only young. To be fair though, even though she is a shade of green, she looks better than those who are embalmed and caked with make up.

You're right about the embalming and makeup too. In Eastern Europe the deceased aren't embalmed and they often look far more natural and alive in their caskets.

Wow! one of the guys in the background has a handkerchief on his face, she must have smelled awful from the lack of embalming. That's really sad that they botched her so much, she looks really in a bad way.

Embalming isn't always done in Russia. Usually it's not an issue because Russia doesn't get hot and the deceased is buried quickly. This time it was hot and burial took a few days.

They should have spent their money embalming her instead of buying a fancy casket.
