In the Victorian era people posed with the dead in weird photos all the time. I do not see this as much different. I think the nature of her death being suicide is what makes it seem weird. You just expect them to be devastated. Who knows she could have made everyone miserable with frequent suicide attempts, self-harm and just generally being horribly depressed all the time. They may see it as her being in a better place.  |

people were encouraged to fart and laugh at my auntie's funeral. there also should have been a wet bar.

KOTD, you are somewhat...delusional? Beauty is relative to a culture, society, even experiences in childhood. There is no absolute beauty or non-beauty that defines all others. For instance, you consider her good-looking, I do not. Perhaps people notice appearances first but your character -your attitude, that is what separates you and stands out most of all.

If you're a Christian and the deceased is as well, we have hope. I personally don't understand it either but, the Bible tells us to mourn when a child is born and rejoice when one has gone home. Easier said that done but, if you've got Jesus in your heart, and you know that person did too... there's actually a lot to smile about. These are just snapshots. I'm sure there was a lot of crying and devastation. But, if you can have a celebration of life rather than a devastating "funeral".. that's what I'd want. Funeral's aren't for the dead. They are for the living. When you have Jesus, sometimes you can smile.
