I'm really interested in funeral preparation and open caskets. I like morgue photos too, as long as there isn't too much gore and the body can be prepared for an open casket viewing. Is there anywhere to find that here on this site, and would people like if I post it?

Hi, welcome to DR! Sounds like you will put an interesting spin on a few threads I find major trauma reconstructions for open caskets to be rather fascinating, I'm sure plenty of people will approve even if you post sin-gore.

I do not know where you live but there are community colleges that offer Mortuary Science degrees and you can intern at participating mortuaries in the area.

A good embalming of a typical case shouldn't take much longer than two or three hours. Funeral mills can do it faster by cutting corners, while some more complicated cases can take days.
