Re: Totally Awful Close Up's of Girl's Open Casket
Definitely in bad taste for whomever decided this was a good idea. I have seen many dead bodies at funeral time...many just look asleep, which if OC is insisted, is a good thing, but when I was a teenager, I lost a friend in a car accident (she crashed head on into a tree) and the family wanted OC. To this day, I can't figure out why. Half of her head was gone and my sister had just done her makeup earlier that day. She didn't even look human. RIP Angela.

Re: Totally Awful Close Up's of Girl's Open Casket
I'm hoping that in some twisted dutch way, that is tradition, because if not, that has got to be the worst way you can morn a family member. "aww, look at our little baby, she looks like a 80's American prostitute". Odd that shes not in a coffin as well. Can someone Dutch or anyone who knows about their death rituals shed some light on this?

Re: Totally Awful Close Up's of Girl's Open Casket
thats most likely how she had her hair done when she died. she is embalmed...thats why her face is swollen looking. her features look how they should...i was employed in a mortuary and she looks fine to me. no facial malformations at all. btw, the family (next of kin) decide what the corpse will wear, including makeup....no matter how stupid YOU think it is...it was most likely how she WAS. ::sigh::
