I don’t have scoliosis, but some other birth defects. In my 20’s, my neurosurgeon put 2 cadaver discs, (2) 12” rods, a bunch of pedicle screws, and a whole helluva bunch of other hardware in my lower L-spine. My Blue Cross Blue Shield hates me still to this day**….
** It’s not a secret that I was also in a month-long coma that year, a month after the back surgery. I’m still on the organ registry for a kidney transplant. I’m good, though…. I’m near the bottom, because I don’t even need dialysis right now. My medical bills totaled over $1 million that year, with me paying little because of catastrophic maximum. ORMC (Orlando Regional) is fantastic for neuro and Advent Health is great to sleep at for a month over Thanksgiving!!

I'm stable currently and it would probably be more detrimental if I had the transplant now. I haven't had dialysis since 2009..... that's a positive!! I will certainly keep you in mind. I'll drop you a DM.
