Did it help him or does he still have problems?

Re: Scoliosis

I don’t have scoliosis, but some other birth defects. In my 20’s, my neurosurgeon put 2 cadaver discs, (2) 12” rods, a bunch of pedicle screws, and a whole helluva bunch of other hardware in my lower L-spine. My Blue Cross Blue Shield hates me still to this day**….

** It’s not a secret that I was also in a month-long coma that year, a month after the back surgery. I’m still on the organ registry for a kidney transplant. I’m good, though…. I’m near the bottom, because I don’t even need dialysis right now. My medical bills totaled over $1 million that year, with me paying little because of catastrophic maximum. ORMC (Orlando Regional) is fantastic for neuro and Advent Health is great to sleep at for a month over Thanksgiving!!

My daughter is going to need surgery soon to fix hers. Dr said a month in bed. She’s only 15. Feel terrible for her. I hope your son is ok.

Re: Scoliosis

I had surgery to correct my scoliosis at age 12. It was 6.5hrs long, and I was in the ICU for about a week. I now have 2 titanium-steel rods and screws all down my thoracic spine. I wish I had my original x-rays because it looks pretty gnarly. I'd say my curvature was similar to the one posted, but a little more S-shaped.

If you wanna know what it's like to live with a fused spine, just strap a 2x4 to your back lmao
