from what I understand, generally no, but donating organs can save up to 8 peoples lives with one death of a donor as long as all organs are healthy and viable and there are no bloodborne diseases, versus body donation for science. I guess its a matter of what you would want more :)

Cremate me, seal my remains in a capsule with a little history of my life, and jettison it into space towards one of the inhabitable earth-like planets we've discovered already (Gliese 581c). Then by the time we colonize that world, someone will have discovered a way to reanimate dead remains and bring me back... so I can complain how music isn't as good as it was in the 60's-90's.
