Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room IV

An "Akhmat" soldier shot up a residential building in Sudzha with a grenade launcher. Authorities assured that he has already died in a car accident when fleeing from the Police.

Video from the Kursk region was published by Z-"military police". Kadyrovite has a VP (military police) patch on his sleeve, he says "Akhmat Chechnya" several times while loading the grenade launcher.

The governor of the region, Khinshtein, points out that in early June a junior sergeant from the 158th military commandant's office died in a traffic accident while fleeing from police pursuit.

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room IV

Near the settlement of Nyzhnia Duvanka in Luhansk region, several russian deserters shot the platoon commander of the military police and two of his subordinates, after which they fled.

Russia is reported to be experiencing a rising number of soldiers refusing to fight on Putin’s “meat grinder” frontline.

Some soldiers on leave in Russia have reportedly gone into hiding to avoid going back to the frontline. In 2024, a flyer produced by Russian officials and distributed to the army highlighted court cases brought against soldiers from the 1195 motorised rifle regiment.

A total of 115 soldiers failed to return from army leave and were called to trial. The soldiers were charged according to article 337 of the Russian criminal code for the "unauthorised abandonment of a unit" – a crime punishable by a decade in prison.

In May 2024, Ukraine's Intelligence agency claimed that over 18,000 soldiers of the Southern Military District had absconded. Roughly 12,000 of them were serving in the 8th Combined Arms Army – a unit often deployed to eastern Ukraine.

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room IV

Uleiman Borshchigov, a native of the village of Darbanhi in Chechnya, is in the so-called "recuperation regiment." Such units are created specifically for the wounded who are to be returned to the front.

Borshchigov writes down an appeal to Kadyrov and tells how the command forged everyone's documents and now they are being sent to slaughter again.

In his appeal, he asks Kadyrov to help him in his situation and save his life. What happened to Borshchigov next, whether he is alive, is unknown.

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room IV

As part of reducing the enemy’s capabilities to produce strike unmanned aerial vehicles, on June 15, units of the Special Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in cooperation with other components of the Defense Forces, struck an important facility of the Russian aggressor’s military-industrial complex.

The target was the UAV production facilities in Yelabuga, Republic of Tatarstan, Russian Federation. This military-industrial complex facility of the Russian occupiers is used to manufacture, test and launch strike unmanned aerial vehicles across the territory of Ukraine, in particular on energy and civil infrastructure.

It has been confirmed that the means of destruction reached the target area. The results are being clarified.

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room IV

As part of a large-scale reorganization launched in 2024, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are completing the transition to a corps command system. This will allow to have forces to conduct offensives, said the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrskyi at a meeting with journalists, reports LIGA.net.

"I hope that such a reorganization will give us the opportunity... to create more capable reserves to be able to carry out active counter-offensive and offensive actions," he said .

According to the Chief of Staff, the main purpose of the changes is to increase the efficiency of military operations and optimize the command structure in the context of active hostilities.

He called the key advantages of the reform more rational use of personnel, expansion of UAV units, and optimization of artillery resources.

Syrsky said that the corps system envisages preserving the level of operational and strategic command of troops (OSDT), while gradually eliminating operational and tactical groups (OTG). The transition is also expected to strengthen control over combat units and reduce losses.

The transition to the corps system has also resulted in a "significant rejuvenation" of the operational leadership of the Defense Forces. The overwhelming majority of corps commanders and their deputies are former brigade commanders and chiefs of staff who distinguished themselves on the battlefield.

"We hope that this reorganization will provide new opportunities in terms of the effectiveness of the use of units, the application of combat experience, strengthening control over brigades, reducing our losses and increasing the volume of enemies destroyed," emphasized the chief.

In November 2024, Zelensky supported the army's transition to a corps system if it reduces bureaucracy.

In February 2025, Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Syrsky said that the army had begun transitioning to a corps structure.

On April 11, TRO representative Berezovets spoke about the corps system and said that nothing was changing for us.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine now control approximately 90 square kilometers in the Glushkovsky district of Russia’s Kursk region, following active operations that disrupted the redeployment of Russian troops.
This was announced by Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi at a meeting with media representatives, as reported by Ukrinform.

“In April 2025, Russian forces— approximately 60,000 personnel, including two airborne assault divisions, assault brigades, and marine units—were assigned to redeploy to new combat zones to reinforce offensive operations in the Pokrovsk, Toretsk, Lyman, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson sectors. The goal was to accelerate the pace of their offensive. However, our active operations in the Glushkovsky district of Russia’s Kursk region disrupted these plans,” Syrskyi said.

According to him, the Russian units were ultimately prevented from redeploying to other sectors. One brigade, which had already begun moving toward the Pokrovsk sector, was redirected back to the Kursk region.

As a result, approximately 10,000 Russian troops are currently engaged in fighting within the Glushkovsky district on Russian territory.

“The Ukrainian army controls about 90 square kilometers of the territory in the Glushkovsky district in Russia’s Kursk region. These are our preemptive actions to counter a potential enemy offensive,” Syrskyi emphasized.

As reported, a total of 171 combat engagements occurred along the front lines on June 21, with the most intense Russian assaults concentrated in the Pokrovsk sector.

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, held an extended meeting with representatives of Ukrainian and international media, during which he outlined the current situation on the front lines, key challenges for the army, ongoing reforms, and prospects for future operations.

Syrskyi focused in particular on the situation in the Sumy sector. According to him, the Russian force grouping in the area remains at approximately 50,000 troops. However, active Ukrainian operations in the border regions of Russia’s Kursk and Belgorod oblasts have prevented the redeployment of these divisions and brigades to other directions.

He noted that a dedicated group has been formed within the operational-tactical grouping, tasked specifically with the defense of the city of Sumy and the reinforcement of engineering and fortification barriers around the regional center. A deputy commander has been appointed to oversee fortification matters.

Syrskyi stated that Russian offensive actions have been halted along the Kindrativka–Yunakivka line, and the situation has been stabilized. In recent weeks, Ukrainian forces regained control of Andriivka and advanced 200 to 700 meters near Yunakivka.

The Commander-in-Chief also discussed the strengthening of air defenses, the integration of modern technologies, and the ongoing corps reform aimed at optimizing the use of military personnel and increasing the availability of combat-ready reserves.

“We don’t plan to sit in passive defense,” he stressed, emphasizing the importance of creating reserves for future counteroffensive and offensive actions.

A significant part of Syrskyi’s briefing addressed the development of high-tech capabilities, including the prioritization of drones, robotic ground systems, and drone interceptors to counter enemy Shahed drones. Under the DeepStrike initiative, Ukraine is developing both drone and missile strike programs to continue targeting military facilities on Russian territory with increasing scale and depth.

“We will do everything to preserve our soldiers. Our greatest value is the infantryman,” Syrskyi emphasized.

He also acknowledged the concerns raised by journalists regarding media access and safety in combat zones and promised to work jointly on solutions. The shared goal, he said, is clear: strong Armed Forces, a strong Ukraine, and Victory.

==========================================

The Ukrainian Defense Forces liberated Andriyivka in Sumy region and managed to stabilize their left flank.

225 OSHP after long battles and measures to clear the village of the Pod*rsk remnants, managed to take control of the village. These actions managed, firstly, to divert forces from other villages, as the enemy had dug in to Andriivka. Secondly, to stop further advance towards the important settlements of Khotyn and Pysarivka.

The 225th Infantry Division remains one of the few units capable of carrying out successful offensive operations. At the same time, those who understand the realities know that the losses of the 225th are much lower.

The 110th Motorized Rifle Brigade was deployed to the village for reinforcement, as the brigade recently wrote about.

Ukrainian F-16 Pilot Killed in One of Russia’s Largest Airstrikes So Far
Lieutenant Colonel Maksym Ustymenko is the third Ukrainian F-16 pilot to die in combat since Ukraine introduced the Western fighter jets into its arsenal last year.

Lieutenant Colonel Maksym Ustymenko, 31, died after his fighter jet was damaged during an operation to intercept Russian missiles and drones, Ukraine’s Air Force reported.

During the defense operation, Ustymenko, a first-class pilot, destroyed seven enemy air targets aboard his F-16 before his aircraft sustained critical damage. He managed to steer his jet away from populated areas but was unable to eject in time.

“He died like a hero,” Ukraine’s Air Force said in a statement, offering condolences to his family.

The overnight attack on June 29 was a combined strike involving 537 air targets - cruise, ballistic, and hypersonic missiles, as well as Shahed-type drones, according to Ukraine’s Air Force and monitoring groups.

The assault included:

477 Shahed-type attack drones and decoy UAVs, launched from Russian territory and occupied Crimea;
4 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal hypersonic missiles from Russia’s Tambov region;
7 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles from Voronezh region and Crimea;
41 Kh-101 and Iskander-K cruise missiles from Saratov, Kursk, and Bryansk regions;
5 Kalibr cruise missiles from the Black Sea;
3 S-300 guided missiles from Russia’s Kursk region.

Ukrainian air defenses, including fighter aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare systems, and mobile fire groups, were activated across the country.

As of 8:30 a.m., Ukrainian forces had destroyed or neutralized 475 enemy targets, including:

211 Shahed drones shot down, with an additional 225 drones suppressed by electronic warfare;
1 Iskander ballistic missile shot down;
33 Kh-101/Iskander-K cruise missiles shot down, one neutralized by electronic systems;
4 Kalibr cruise missiles shot down.
Debris from downed targets was recorded in at least eight locations, while six regions reported active air attacks.

The missile attack lasted nearly three hours, while the drone assault continued for almost 10 hours.

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room IV

During the night of June 27–28, its drones struck the Kirovske military airfield in occupied Crimea, destroying a Pantsir-S1 self-propelled anti-aircraft missile-gun system and three russian helicopters, a Mi-8, Mi-26, and a Mi-28.

The operation targeted aviation components, air defense installations, ammunition storage depots, and enemy UAV facilities at the russian-held airbase, inflicting fire damage across multiple critical sites.

Secondary detonations throughout the night indicated strikes on stored munitions, suggesting the raid’s effectiveness and precision.

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room IV

Ukrainian drones operated by the Main Directorate of Intelligence (HUR) struck a russian military logistics facility in the city of Bryansk on the morning of June 28.

The target was identified as a branch of the 1060th Red Banner Center for Material and Technical Support, previously known as the 120th Arsenal of the russian Ministry of Defense’s Main Missile and Artillery Directorate.

The strike resulted in explosions and a subsequent fire at the site, confirmed by footage briefly circulated by local residents.

The videos were later deleted, and russian authorities have not officially acknowledged the incident, only reiterating a ban on sharing images of the aftermath of air defense activity.

The russian Ministry of Defense claimed that air defenses had intercepted and destroyed 11 unmanned aerial vehicles over Bryansk region during the night and early morning hours.

However, geolocated imagery suggests that the strike damaged facilities linked to the 1060th Center, a known storage and repair base for artillery systems.

Intelligence sources stated that the operation was part of an ongoing campaign to degrade russia’s military infrastructure.

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room IV

Ukrainian paratroopers conducted a successful operation in the Sumy region, capturing 15 russian army troops, according to the Air Assault Troops of Ukraine.

Most of the detainees are soldiers of the 810th and 155th separate russian Marine Brigades. These formations are known for their particular cruelty to Ukrainian prisoners of war, as the Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers who were released from captivity have repeatedly stated.

According to the Ukrainian military, the captured russians themselves reported inhuman treatment in their units on the territory of russia - psychological pressure, humiliation, and threats from commanders.
