Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room IV
Biden lifts ban on Ukraine using US missiles to strike inside Russia Joe Biden has allowed Ukraine to strike inside Russia with long-range US missiles, according to NBC News (our partner news organisation). President Biden has authorised Ukraine to use US-provided long-range weapons inside Russia for limited strikes, US officials have said. Ukraine plans to conduct its first long-range attacks in the coming days, the sources said, without revealing details due to operational security concerns. The move by the US comes after months of requests by Volodymyr Zelenskyy to allow Ukraine's military to use US weapons to hit Russian military targets far from its border. The change follows Russia's deployment of North Korean ground troops to supplement its own forces, a development that has caused alarm in Washington and Kyiv. The first deep strikes are likely to be carried out using ATACMS rockets, which have a range of up to 190 miles, according to the sources. That’s worrying. Now Pootin could say that it’s nato countries attacking and use the nukes. Or maybe he’ll wait for Trump to pull funding and force Ukraine to give up Donbass. |

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room IV
'Washington's decision could lead to Third World War,' Russian official says Washington's decision to let Ukraine strike deep into Russia with long-range US missiles could lead to a Third World War, a Russian official has said, according to the TASS news agency. Vladimir Dzhabarov, first deputy head of the Russian upper house's international affairs committee, also said the reported move by Joe Biden would receive a swift response. Earlier, we brought you reports that the US leader had allowed Ukraine to strike inside Russia with long-range US missiles (see post at 6.09pm). The move by the US comes after months of requests by Volodymyr Zelenskyy to allow Ukraine's military to use US weapons to hit Russian military targets far from its border. |

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room IV
US allows Ukraine to use its missiles to strike inside Russia. Joe Biden has reportedly given the green light to Ukraine to use US long-range missiles to strike deep inside Russia. The US President’s administration is said to have allowed Ukraine to use weapons provided by the US to strike into Russian territory, Reuters and AP report citing three sources. The U-turn could mark a significant shift in the war which was started by Russia in February 2022. It comes less than two months before Joe Biden, 81, will leave the Oval Office after the US election win by Donald Trump. Now Ukraine is reportedly getting ready for its first long-range attacks over the coming days, according to the sources. However, they refused to reveal further details due to operational security concerns. The White House has declined to comment. It comes after months of lobbying by Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for the US to permit the use of long-range weapons to hit Russian military targets. Zelenskyy and his allies argued that the earlier US ban stopping Ukraine from using its missiles in Russia made it impossible for Ukraine to try block Russian attacks on cities and electrical grids. Russia carried out one of the largest air attacks in recent times, launching kamikaze drones, cruise and aeroballistic missiles over Ukraine on Sunday. Some even said the US hesitation before the ban was lifted could cost Ukraine losing the war. They could be used in response to North Korea’s move to send up to 12,000 troops to Russia to support President Vladimir Putin’s invasion, one source told the news agency AP. Zelenskyy aired his frustrations on Telegram two weeks ago, saying ‘everyone is just waiting for the North Korean military to start attacking Ukrainians well. He wanted to strike pre-emptively against North Korean training camps in Russia, saying Kyiv knew where they were. But he also said Ukraine cannot do so without permission from its Western allies. Now Zelenskyy and the Ukrainian military leaders have given the go-ahead they were looking for. Biden had remained opposed as he wanted to hold the line against further escalation he reportedly feared it could risk a direct conflict between Russia, the US and other NATO countries. The reported shift by the US comes as Russia launched its largest attack in Ukraine since August. At least seven people were killed in four regions of Ukraine after the attack which targeted energy facilities, causing power cuts and damage to infrastructure. Zelenskyy said on social media Russia used almost 140 missiles, more than 900 guided aerial bombs and over 600 strike drones over the past week. Russia has been producing hundreds of thermobaric drones which are particularly destructive for their ability to suck out all the oxygen in their path. The Iranian-designed drones can hit targets even inside fortified buildings and underground. What has Donald Trump said about war in Ukraine? President-elect Trump has said he will limit US support for Ukraine – while pledging to end the war as soon as possible. Trump has suggested he could push Ukraine to agree to give up some land seized by Russia to find a way to end the war, AP reports. He has also criticised the Biden administration for giving Kyiv military air worth tens of billions of dollars. International supporters of Ukraine fear Trump’s victory could lead to a rushed settlement that would only benefit Putin. Things are def heating up ! |

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room IV
Germany earlier as their reason for not allowing it, stated that German troops on Ukrainian soil would need to input the coordinates and operate launchers and whatnot (even though the German ones are air launched so he could be mistaken with the ground based launchers). Germany said that allowing German weapons/troops to strike inside Russia would mean they become a direct accomplice to the war. Article 5, worthless as it is, would not be in effect if a country launched an attack on a country first. As Ukraine is currently a non-nato member; Germany would be attacking another country, Russia, while Russia has no war with Germany, nor nato and thus any retaliation against Germany should not invoke article 5. My guess is another building with nato advisors (hiding in civilian area) is going to get leveled, like they did with the French advisors/troops earlier this year |

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room IV
Well if he can have the Koreans come in then Ukraine should be able to have others come in. even if they only stayed in Ukraine and defended them. leaving the Ukranian army free to keep on in the Kursk region

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room IV
I don’t think EU countries want their soldiers dead, although escalation could potentially lead to dead citizens (who are useless in a war aside from human shields). So with long range attacks against Russia, the EU soldiers are alive still with only potential civilian casualties from any direct escalation (unless they target military offices but we are constantly told Russia only attacks civilian targets so |
