Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room II
Residents of Novaya Tavolzhanka (Belgorod region, Russia) accused the Russian military of looting. They wrote about it on the page of local governor Vyacheslav Gladkov in VKontakte. July is a translation error as it's June. |

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room II
You fight with the army you have, not wish for. Plus waiting longer is a mistake. Russians had enough time to prepare already Good question. I think this was a mistake to wait this long, too much rain/wet ground is one thing but giving your enemy ample time to prepare is a bigger mistake They seem to have quite a few de-mining vehicles and portable systems, either UR-77, M58's and mine plows/rollers for tanks. Intercepted phone calls between Russians in Zaporizhia and OSINT community updates don't seem to indicate any lack of UA artillery there. Because the armor is generally better but it could be added, still. ERA is mostly a Russian thing to augment lower quality armor on their machines and to cater to modern concern for the lives of the crewmen. Western tanks have ballistic compartments for ammunition, which is why you see zero Leopards with popped turrets. You can't put standard Soviet era ERA panels on M113's because their armor is too thin to withstand the detonation of the ERA panel itself. This is a marathon, not a 100m dash. One thing I get super annoyed with on social media is that non-military people seem to think that western tanks, or tanks in general, "should" be invincible. They're not and never will be. My biggest fears as an M1 tank platoon leader were two things: 1. Water 2. Modern ATGM's When attacking "rush" is a given. You need that for a variety of reasons. Ukrainians are steadily shooting down Russian air assets and Russia can't make any more of them due to so many of their important components being of western manufacture, which are heavily sanctioned. Their air power is a fraction of what it was months ago. This is war. Tanks are knocked out, aircraft get shot down, infantry get shelled. People die, especially during offensive operations. But neither side will stop until the other is militarily defeated, and from my take on all this it seems obvious Russian MoD did not foresee how this would work out, they have US Vietnam casualties almost x4, USSR Afghanistan casualties x14 in only a year and a half. If I was anyone within the upper levels of the Russian MoD, I would have some very serious, dire concerns and I'd probably be making some sort of plan to leave the country with my family at the earliest opportunity. |

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room II
there's more to it. Stuck vehicles are sitting ducks, not properly trained for the equipment being used is usally a waste of equipment/money, they needed enough ammo which they hadn't at that time, only one third of the promised tanks etc arrived at that time so they had to wait. https://www.pbs.org/newshour/world/w...ll-hasnt-begun |

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room II
Davydov's update for today. In the video he discusses the video of the four Russians killed in the trench that I posted earlier on 19 June. He speculates that the last Russian that was shot might have been a popular milblogger as he looks similar to him and was not wearing full military clothing. He says that when you hear the Ukrainians shouting out, they are saying "Surrender and you will survive" a couple of times.

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room II
So, they print the exact date and days since the start of the conflict every day?! Couldn't afford an LED clock? Imagine being a dude who's job is to print a new date and frame it every day. He has to get a stool to take it off the wall, take it out from the frame, print out a new date, reframe it and then put it back on the wall every morning. Yeah it's 100% real. I can't wait to see a Budanov proof of life. It's gonna be epic. |

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room II
It also has the day # of the war on it. Who knows why they print a calendar out every fucking day... it's a war room. Maybe that's how they do it there. Why in the hell would they carry out a charade months long that two of the highest ranking officials in the country are fine if they're not? Then carry out such a campaign of denying it and posting "fake" videos. Jesus. Get a grip on reality. It would be front page news if anything actually happened to either of these two. And not just on Russian front page news. Who's next?

"Macron said that the French-Italian SAMP/T missile defense system has already been deployed in Ukraine. This is the first official confirmation of SAMP/T's arrival in Ukraine after it was repeatedly reported by the media."

"This year, the European Union Military Assistance Mission plans to train 30,000 Ukrainian servicemen of the Armed Forces and Territorial Defense. The EU Military Assistance Mission for Ukraine unites 28 countries. The training takes place at the bases of EU members." "Russian Defense Minister Shoigu again threatens to strike "decision-making centers" in Ukraine if the Ukrainian Armed Forces strike occupied Crimea with HIMARS and Storm Shadow missiles. "The Russian military leadership will regard this as dragging the United States and the United Kingdom into the war," he added."
