Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room II
"Mykhailo Dianov, a soldier of the 36th Separate Marine Brigade and the defender of Mariupol, shares a moving story of how he was exchanged for russian POWs. Mykhailo was wounded at the Azovstal plant. When he returned to Ukraine, the world was shocked by how malnourished, exhausted and tortured he looked after being held captive."

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room II
I refer to this. It may well Be a question of pride. And whether or not he would lose gracefully. Which I doubt. My feeling is he’s getting old. What does it matter to him if he nukes half the world if he’s going to die anyway. There’s a possibility he’ll take the devil may care attitude. It’s. A question of if ordered, would the person being told to Press the button actually go ahead and press it. An interesting article has been published today, in which Professor Dmitry Adamsky - an expert on nuclear strategy and Russian security policy - offers his thoughts on the significance of the Kremlin's repeated dire warnings and threats. In the analysis for Foreign Affairs, he argues that the shift in mentality among Russian leaders in recent years and the changing language they tend to use when alluding to the country's arsenal has worrying implications. "Russia's approach to nuclear weapons has evolved since the invasion began—and not in comforting ways," he writes. "The war further nuclearised the Russian establishment's strategic thought and normalised nuclear weapons in the public's consciousness. These mutually reinforcing trends have implications for Russia’s prospective behaviour. Evidence from primary sources indicate that over the last year and a half Russia's military has doubled down on its conceptualisation of deterrence strategy, and that it is starting to rely even more on the country's nuclear arsenal in strategic planning." While frequent nuclear threats issued by Vladimir Putin and his allies since the invasion of Ukraine have been widely dismissed by Western officials and commentators, Prof Adamsky suggests these threats have helped change perspectives so much in Russia that, for many, a nuclear attack is no longer "an unthinkable option". "This recurring belligerent nuclear rhetoric—official and unofficial alike—has somewhat eroded the nuclear taboo, even if unintentionally," he says. Commenting on the influence of popular opinion on the actions of leaders, he said "the tail might now be wagging the dog". "Several Russian defence intellectuals and nuclear experts have been shocked by the unbearable nuclear lightness among the Russian public," he writes. "These experts have said that public sentiment inaccurately represents the Kremlin's position, and that it is irresponsible because of its dangerous implications." Prof Adamsky concludes that these changing attitudes may have a crucial bearing on the actions of the officials and operators who it would otherwise be hoped would refuse to carry out orders if they were instructed by leaders to launch a nuclear attack. "The new nuclear normal in Russia is likely to increase the obedience of operators in response to escalatory nuclear orders from Russia's leadership," he concludes. "And if Russia experiences civilian-military instability, the chances of unsanctioned use could go up." It really does leave you wondering what if?. |

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room II
More scapegoats. I might be adding a couple of these names to my SRDS post. "16 scientists have already been arrested in Moscow for missile articles. And that's without the "dagger". Bunkerny found someone to take revenge on for military tyranny: the case of traitorous scientists is in full swing. The FSB throws everyone involved in rocket science into the basement - from academics to senior scientists. Soon they will come for the younger ones. ✴️You could already hear that three rocket scientists were thrown behind bars. They are being prosecuted under the article "treason". To be honest, they were imprisoned for visualizing bunker fantasies. ✴️It is about a science fiction cartoon, which Putin on March 1, 2018 passed in the State Duma as reality. In the video, the Zircon anti-ship missile and the Avangard intercontinental ballistic missile are launched over the US territory. "There is no analogue," said "grandfather". The world laughed at science fiction, but not its main creator. He believed that the "characters" of the cartoon are real. ✴️"Zircon" and "Avangard" do exist, but they are so invisible that they can be seen only in the closed articles of the military budget of Muscovy. It is logical to assume: hyperspace budgets allocated for imaginary weapons were added to the expected hypersonic speed of the rockets. With such funds, Musk would colonize Mars, teach the people who arrived there to do without oxygen, and in return create a time machine. ✴️In reality, scientists will be tried for inflated expectations of the leader. Since there is no such article in the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation yet, treason is added. ✴️The trinity of traitors is Valery Zvehintsev, a doctor of technical sciences, his supervisor Oleksandr Shiplyuk and scientist Anatoliy Maslov. The last two were thrown into the bunks last year in August. The funniest thing is that Maslov is being "sewn" to transfer secret technologies... to Russia's closest friend and partner China - he just spoke at a scientific conference. Others "squatted" on bunks for writing scientific papers. ✴️In total, 16 people in the Siberian branch of the Academy of Sciences fell under the hot hand of the FSB, including an academician, the heads of laboratories, and some scientists managed to give the bunker a shower in the bullpen and are now watching the events from the other world with interest. ✴️This schmon is only because of one "Zircon", and there are a lot of such tricks in advanced Russian science. Bunkerny, for example, played a cartoon in the State Duma about the Kinzhal hypersonic complex, which "guaranteedly overcomes" not only existing, but also future air defense and missile defense systems. He said that even the Martians would not be able to knock him down. ✴️The Martians did not, but the Ukrainians succeeded, and also with the help of the Patriot system created in the 70s of the last century (although let's be honest, it was a Ukrainian modification of 1999). And there are other "analagaf nets" that "grandfather" used to brag about: "Satan II" missiles, other "Sarmatians": Their developers must also answer for the failure of Mordor's combat capability... ✴️How can we not mention the famous Stalinist "case of scientists": back then, there were also enemies and traitors around, whose place is only under the supervision of the penitentiary system. Under Stalin, entire scientific institutes worked in prisons. After all, the founder of the rocket industry Serhiy Korolev made his most important discoveries precisely under the reliable protection of prison walls. ✴️For us, the indicator here is very simple: the more internal enemies, traitors and foreign agents the Putin regime discovers, the less confident it is in its stability. By all indications, it is not yet the 37th year, but the country is steadily sliding towards it, and will be increasingly forced to pay for the fantasies and illusions of its leader. All the more so because Russian science has become disorganized, and in such a difficult time it must atone for its sins before the scoundrels, before Putin."

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room II
They could have been doing this 4 months ago when they first started talking about it. "President Joe Biden informed G7 leaders today that the United States supports joint efforts with allies and partners to train Ukrainian pilots for the F-16 , a high-ranking representative of the administration told CNN. According to the official, training will take place in Europe . "As the training takes place over the coming months, our coalition of countries participating in this effort will decide exactly when to provide aircraft, how many we will provide and who will provide them," the official added." Tweet from British PM Sunak:

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room II
Russian hacked a Ukrainian company called "New Mail" (Nova Poshta) which they assumed was the company responsible for delivery of western weapons and ammo to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Apparently they got it wrong and the "courier" company that delivers the Leopards, Bradleys, Stingers, etc to the AFU is a company called "Glovo". SOURCE QUOTE: "The Podors hacked the website of Nova Poshta in revenge for what they believed to be the company's delivery of ammunition and equipment for the Armed Forces. Almost a year and a half of the active phase of the war, and these dovb@obs still do not know that deliveries of Leopard tanks, M2 Bradley BMP, FIM-92 Stinger and others to the front are carried out by couriers of the Glovo company. " Screenshot is a pro-Russian source.

"At one of the Italian railway stations, an echelon with Italian "wheeled tanks" "Centauro B1" and "Iveco VM 90" cars was spotted moving through the territory of Italy. As time shows, all the military that goes by rail in Europe then ends up in Ukraine."
