My Victory Day dump...  Putin  Lukashenko  The number of spectators on the Red Square parade in Moscow was much smaller than the year before. But the number of police officers and Russian Guards downtown is very large.Drone hunters were spotted as well.   VIDEOS: Putting all the videos I found (so far) with English subtitles. 1. "Ukraine war: Evacuation prompts Zaporizhzhia nuclear safety warning The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has voiced concern about the safety of Europe's largest nuclear plant as Russian occupation forces evacuate civilians from the nearby Ukrainian town of Enerhodar. Rafael Grossi said the situation at the Zaporizhzhia plant was "becoming increasingly unpredictable and potentially dangerous". The evacuation comes ahead of an expected Ukrainian counter-offensive. But nuclear staff are staying on-site. The IAEA statement said that "while operating staff remain at the site, Director General Grossi expressed deep concern about the increasingly tense, stressful, and challenging conditions for personnel and their families". It said the IAEA experts present at the plant had "received information that the announced evacuation of residents from the nearby town of Enerhodar - where most plant staff live - has started". The IAEA has issued warnings previously about safety at the plant, after shelling caused some damage to installations and temporary power outages, though without triggering any leak of radiation. In March the IAEA deplored the fact that the plant was running on diesel generators to keep vital cooling systems going, after damage to power lines. Russian forces occupy much of the Zaporizhzhia region but not the regional capital Zaporizhzhia, which lies just north-east of Enerhodar across the Dnipro Reservoir. Besides Enerhodar, Russia has ordered an evacuation of civilians from 18 frontline locations in the region. On Friday, the Russian-installed regional head Yevgeny Balitsky said that "in the past few days, the enemy has stepped up shelling of settlements close to the front line". "I have therefore made a decision to evacuate first of all children and parents, elderly people, disabled people and hospital patients," he wrote on social media."  "Budanov has given a new interview, briefly about the main points: ▪️ Russia does not have the potential to launch another attempt at a serious offensive somewhere in Ukraine. ▪️Окупанти have reduced their missile stockpile to nothing. But they are trying to accumulate a certain stockpile of missiles to thwart a Ukrainian counteroffensive. ▪️Russian propaganda works well, they can even present the fall of a missile on the Kremlin as a victory. ▪️The level of Wagner's men is much higher than that of the regular Russian army. ▪️There are forces in Russia that want to eliminate Prigozhin."  It's been reported by Russian sources that the warehouse they shelled in Odesa two nights ago was a Ukrainian Military stronghold with "many militants", some other Russian sources said there were Foreign Legion "mercenaries" there.  It was actually a Red Cross humanitarian food aid storage site. One person was killed, the security guard. A few more;     It was also reported earlier that Lukashenko returned to Belarus immediately after the parade due to health reasons and allegedly was escorted to the airport by ambulance. He did not attend the lunch/dinner with Putin and the other presidents that were there.

Analysis of the localized counteroffensive south of Bakhmut, south of the Ivanivske highway which started this morning 9 May. Russian 72nd Motorized Brigade reportedly withdrew from the battlefield, forfeiting 3 square kilometers along with a contingent of Wagner forces. Prigozhin himself stated that by 10am, the Ukrainian attacking force (3rd Assault Brigade, a former Azov Brigade) penetrated half a kilometer by 10am. |
