Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room
"The first group of 635 Ukrainian soldiers has completed training at a U.S. base in Germany, the Pentagon reports. They learned how to drive Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, as well as general military and maneuver training. Now the second group of 710 soldiers is undergoing training to master the M109 Paladin self-propelled artillery systems. Next week, they will be joined by another 810 soldiers who will learn how to use Stryker armored fighting vehicles."

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room
Do the orphan kids from eastern Ukraine (“ cities under Kremlin occupation”) also see it as a crime that they are adopted into a family in a country where they are still allowed to speak the Russian language and are allowed to practice the Orthodox religion, or would they rather be in an orphanage located in a country that essentially adopted genocide laws (being denied religion, language, literature, history)? Personally I think orphanages can be really fun for the kids so I can see why they would rather be chilling with other orphans, even if they have to learn another language (which is also fun if you think about) |

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room
Do you have anything to add to the topic being discussed? It is true that many orphans form a bond between them, and thus they would rather be with their ‘family’ instead of living a single child with other people who they never met before. Also learning a new language is a hobby for many people, and kids can either practice religion later in life or pray in secret anyway. So I kind of agree with the article kellyhound posted that some kids rather stay in the orphanage instead of being adopted into a family in another country. Even if that country has the same ethnic customs and language as the orphans themselves. |
