A military convoy with German modern air defense system IRIS-T has been spotted in Poland headed towards Ukraine. It looks like two MAN SX45 8x8 10-ton missile launcher vehicles and one TOC vehicle. Reloader/transloader and radar units not pictured.

Advanced radar systems sensitive enough to detect incoming artillery and track their location in the air and trajectory. Then boom, laser destroys in midair before it hits its target on the ground. Because it's a laser, it travels extremely fast in a straight line, so calculations are much easier.

AHH so battery as in "assault" not battery as in lithium/duracell. Thank you for the explanation. I know a little about a lot... but military equipment/weapons/defense systems, not so much.

Battery as in a group of artillery pieces. Like four 2S1 Gvozdikas. Today, counter-battery radar systems are used to pinpoint the location of enemy artillery systems on the ground so you can shoot artillery at them and destroy them. |
