Vintage WW2 Destruction; Planes, Boats, Tanks, People

A collection of several mostly Black&White WW-2 Videos from several side.

Some speak for themselves, others show testing like one of the videos of a plane on the ground being blown to pieces;

Testing of the German MK-108 automatic air gun by firing on an RAF (British Royal Air Force) Supermarine Spitfire fighter. The middle of the video is a photo of the aftermath of the firing. The low explosive weight of the round was 80 grams, two or three hits were enough to incapacitate a B-17 bomber. The MK 108 found widespread use on fighters operating against Allied heavy bombers, amongst whose crews it quickly gained a reputation as a formidable and destructive weapon. Because of its distinctive firing sound and high rate of fire it was nicknamed the "jackhammer".

The gun was also widely used on twin-engine night fighters ("Heinkel He.219", "Messerschmitt Bf.110").
Or the one featuring some knocked out tanks;

Extraction of dead crew members (French) of the M-4 Sherman tank shot by German AT, northern France 1944.
And another;

F-6F Hellcat from the US Navy aircraft carrier USS Yorktown destroys Japanese ammunition transport, Pacific Front, 1944.

Also;

The soldiers go straight to heaven because they've already been to hell.
- Flying Dutchman (Eric McCormack).

USMC units storm the Japanese Imperial Army's coastal fortifications during the Tarawa landings, November 1943.Marine casualties in the three-day battle were
1,696 dead,
2,101 wounded
Marines:
687 dead.Sergeant Norman Hatch, a frontline cameraman who filmed the bodies on the beach, was given such shocking footage that he needed special permission from President Franklin Roosevelt to publish it.

Re: Vintage WW2 Destruction; Planes, Boats, Tanks, People

Those poor guys in that tank never stood a chance. What an ugly situation.
You saw the huge hole in the front of the tank. That was ONE shot, through the THICKEST armor the Sherman had. It obviously wiped out the entire crew. The metal that spalled (broke off the inside of the armor, like when you punch through a section of dry-wall) ricocheted around the inside of the tank until it settled into something soft that stopped it. That was either the seat padding, or the human bodies in the tank. Those bodies were FILLED with shrapnel. Death was instant. Imagine hitting a golf ball in a fully tiled bathroom, and multiply it by 1000, and you get an idea of the hornet's nest an American tank became when it was hit.
ONE German Tiger crew reported knocking out as many as FORTY Sherman tanks in less than an hour.
In contrast, there are pictures of Tiger tanks with their crews standing in front of the tank, showing as many as 38 Sherman shell hits, with NO penetration of the tank, and the crew was in perfect health. German troops fought hard, because they had complete faith that their tanks would protect them right to the bitter end.
