Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread V
Vlad "Tepes" ("Impaler" from Romanian translation) Dracul was nuts but smart. He was also a very hands on and an effective military leader, personally fighting side by side with his guys doing risky shit against the Turks. Something Putin would avoid like the plague even compared to other modern leaders and he's gained a reputation for his frequent bunker stays, armored trains and disconnection with his people on the ground, likely because he fears them. Crazy long tables during meetings? Vlad Dracul battle analysis video against, fast forward to 9 minutes flat. Good stuff. |

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread V
This question was posted in my latest compilation thread drones #1. Didn't want to talk about it in that thread, so I'm putting it in here By the law of war you're not supposed to shoot someone who's clearly surrendering. If you do, that's a war crime regardless if they're a uniformed soldier representing a government or what we Americans deemed insurgents. If you're caught and there were witnesses, and if some officer somewhere decides this needs to be investigated, you are in deep shit. Which has definitely happened, one unit is very infamous for having an entire squad/section who did some awful stuff. Every unit has those guys who you wonder about. Like if this guy was left to his own devices with some captures, would he toss them into some water with their hands tied kind of stuff. It's a dangerous rope to dance on, I was very angry for years because two of my guys were dead and one lost both his legs. It will never leave my head and I have accepted that fact. Like a week later after that event we captured a guy placing an IED and laying the command wire back to a house. We wanted to fuck him up. One of us wanted to shoot him but we didn't. If I were in the same situation today, I wouldn't do it. But then again I'm in my 30's and a hell of a lot more calm and rational than I was in my 20's. Just my .02 cents |

Personally, I think if they're a casualty (clearly Injured variety, or dead already) and they clearly have no morale left, you shouldnt drop more on them. An injured soldier requires more resources than a dead one, and a surrendered and injured soldier can probably convince others its not worth it, so why waste additional resources from your side? Obviously this doesn't apply if there's still active combatants nearby capable of deadly force, but I still feel kinda bad for anyone who is injured who has to sit there and watch another explosive dropped nearby them. It is an excellent compilation, however. Good job on making it. Very debatable topic BUT there's always the chance that it's a fake surrender to get away from the drone or on the field in a firefight, just to get you off guard ect. Also, There's the "compassion kill" where you just put them out of their misery ect & so many variables in the equations that present themselves in warfare & making those kinds of split-second decisions under extreme duress I might add, may seem at the time callous & murderous but they are not. This is War ! These invaders know & understand that they will more than likely be killed so let's get that strait & they have come to kill UAF Hero's who are rightfully protecting their country, ppl, home & history from being wiped out & personally I'm quite surprised that they are turning in so many captured ruskies especially after all the rusian genocidal war crimes committed against them. I understand that there's a prisoner swap scheme yes, but no one knows for sure of the numbers to swap out so that's a plausible deniability factor there to start with as many have just been vaporized ect & blown apart from shelling ect so actual numbers are estimates only & KIA's weather its mercy killing via drone drop or on the field is a slippery slope as others have dif views as we all have a opinion. You will also see a combatant get VOG'd & 4 others come with a stretcher & get VOG'd 2, so ask yourself, is this cruel & inhumane when 4 of his buddies come to help ? NO, It's WAR ! Lastly, this not a T Party where you can ask a guest to leave if they get a bit rowdy, ppl are going to get hurt weather you like it or not & there will be things that you see & hear that you probably won't or don't understand but when you arrive at that point in your mind where you question the morality of it, War that is, ask yourself, what would I do, would I crumble & fold, would I rely on my training & team to get me through, would I have a clear conscious, would my cause be just if I sent a second VOG or bullet. There's a motto or credo for many who serve & civies as well, it's made up of two words "SEMPER FIDELIS". You should look it up to get a bit of an insight into the mind of a soldier & their personal responsibilities & obligations during war time & to do anything different than the rules of engagement doctrine, would & will be met with severe consequences ! |

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread V
I think all high ranks and experienced soldiers will get second grenade. Like drone operators, snipers, officers. These people can be usefull for enemy even if they are injured and out of action. Their experience is threat

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread V
Yes, I agree to a point as there are a lot of variables like I said, & it's a very debatable topic as actions cause reactions & if there is any indication of the possibility of hostile intent being carried out or the subject could or has the potential to re arm themselves & retaliate in any way towards your AF then they will def get a second helping. Also surrendering personal can & have the potential to carry & detonate explosives (Mainly Grenades) at any time so it's no walk in the park for any combatants who take prisoners & it's a very high risk situation to say the least & therefor they are still considered combatants & delt with accordingly. The only time that you can relax is when the threat has been neutralized or has been secured & searched & this IMO includes VOG actions as it's very hard to check a pulse via a drone & if they are surrendering you still have to send in a team to extract the surrendering parties & who knows if they will be walking into a trap. BTW, Drones have a limited amount of time that they can "stay on station" before there battery dies, so knowing this, the combatant that gets caught & surrenders knows that it will more than likely run out of power soon & have to return to the drone operator in order for it to be repowered so when it leaves, he / they can just re arm themselves & go back into action. Anyway, just a few things to consider always remembering that it's War & War is at times, Very Raw ! |

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread V
Does anyone have the photo of the Russian soldier who was dead and his face was all yellow and puffy? I remember seeing it a few months ago and now there’s a million different threads and I can’t find it
