Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread V

You'd be a good lawyer. Also not convinced you're playing devil's advocate?

Putin installed pro-Russian factors early into this conflict before Yanukovych was President of Ukraine, stirred up a bunch of shit and then acted surprised when Ukraine responded. He placed a sock puppet into Ukraine, said "We're being bombed help us Russia", and then on the other hand another sock puppet in Russia, "We are Russia we will come to your aid, urrrrah!"
No i’m actually kinda in the middle on the whole thing. Everybody’s like ‘ra ra ra Russia’s the devil’ but i can kinda see things from both perspectives.

Was there really any ‘conflict’ though to speak of before the western CIA-backed NGOs stirred it up? I thought Ukraine was pretty middle of the road, had Russian sympathetic elements, had EU/American-sympathetic elements.

Whoever started stirring stuff first when ‘our’ sides ‘solution’ became fomenting regime change, and we succeeded, shouldn’t every province have just had its own internationally monitored election? Is that still a deal to be had? War sucks it’s not worth it.

(Afaik ‘nations’ don’t have any ‘rights’ to things like ‘territorial integrity’ in and of themselves. They should govern with the consent of the governed or not at all.)

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread V

Hitler pulled the same thing in Austria with an 'anchlus' (sic) that took areas where there was a German minority. Same with the Alsace-Lorraine in France. Wasn't right then, isn't right now.

Russia has never stopped stirring up stuff since WW2...hell, they havent stopped stirring up stuff ever. You dont get to be the largest country in the world without wars and puppet governments.

When the russian occupation/USSR ended, Russian "oligarchs" and puppets remained in the occupied territories. They never stopped meddling in local politics and pushing their agenda.

The revolution in Ukraine happened because Russia did it again. It got the president to betray its people by going against their will and siding with Putin, by tearin up the EU/Western integration policies.
If a president promises one thing, and then does the opposite...he needs to go. If every country kicked their lying presidents out, we would have much better world.

Oh, I thought the west’s involvement in what happened in 2014 was common knowledge. The Cato institute goes into it see https://www.cato.org/commentary/amer...aine-hypocrisy

P.S. Maybe Ukraine is better off after he was ousted, but either way does that outside the constitution discontinuity mean the outlying provinces can get a vote to decide if they want to be part of the ‘new’ Ukraine? Is this a possible path to peace?
