Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread V
Can we please cut name calling and fuck yous? I'm talking to everyone. It's a form of trolling and is not permitted outside the water cooler. This isn't high school and that shit will never solve anything. For those who are or ever will be accused of being someone else... that shit happens all the time on this forum, so it comes with the site, unfortunately. If you don't believe me, go participate in the water cooler regularly for a few days. Better yet, create a "hello, i'm new" thread in there and see what you get. And with Faust just fucking up as he did making it obvious that he's evading his thread bans, regardless of how he's doing it... suspicions mount. But it's not all that uncommon for formerly banned members to return on different accounts nor for existing members to have dummy accounts. It's against the rules in any case and we have to leave it up to Chris and the moderators (red names) to take care of those things. There is a lot going on behind the scenes that we aren't aware of either (not even me) so keep that in mind. For the record... I don't think Redacted is anyone else. But even if he were, it doesn't matter. The mods are good at figuring this stuff out and I have no doubt that anyone having dup accounts will eventually be found out. Being new and diving head first into a group that's been here for so long is also a part of why this happens. There's nothing wrong with it but those who do should just be warned that sometimes it's seen as something it's not, but it's happened many times on this site. Healthy debate and exchange is expected but when it comes to getting personal insults, name calling, and accusations of whatever... it's time to go outside and touch some grass. I'm talking to everyone... including myself. I do more back and forth with Faust than I ever plan to and I need to reel it in a little myself. I have to catch myself sometimes. I'm here to document the war. As much of it as I can. Between the regular contributors here, on ALL SIDES, I think we have great representation of much of what's going on in the war that the rest of the world isn't told or doesn't pay attention to. Many of us are getting our information from individual sources that are in country, on the ground and on the front lines. But it's absolutely vital to represent both sides as much as possible. No one should hold what is posted against anyone who posts it. Period. Express your likes and dislikes in the thanks/dislike buttons as they are intended. The site is called Documenting Reality and that is exactly the purpose of contributing anything at all. This section is a little different than all the other sections. It's evolved quite a bit in the last 18 months, that's for sure. It's become a great source of information about the war and it would be great to keep it mostly free of ALL of our personal opinions. If we must express our opinions this is the only thread to do that in. I am not a moderator. I pay $10 a month for my green name and I have extra privileges in here mostly to organize and keep the threads neat and orderly. I've have always had a particular intrigue on human behavior during wartime and have a touch of organizational OCD... so I'm applying those traits here. I'm working on the directory, supplemental info posts and the hashtag system as well as posting content. So in that regard, I have been given permission to remove reposts, delete, move, merge posts and threads to keep organized. I do not make disciplinary decisions such as bans or infractions but I will inform KH of stuff that might apply. But no, I don't have any disciplinary authority and everything I say should be taken as a suggestion when it comes to the guidelines and rules of the site. I just give a fuck about these handful of threads, probably too much. Now let's all pass the internet bong/blunt/beer/whiskey/whatever you prefer around and sing Kumbayah and move on.

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread V
Waste of typing all those words by people that can't behave themselves in a forum thread and get deleted in 12 seconds so leave all the personal shit in pm's or block the other user as next time thread bannings will follow. |

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread V
The British Ministry of Defense has just released a video about the training of Ukrainian soldiers in the Challenger 2 Tank. The FV4034 Challenger 2 is a British third-generation main battle tank currently in service with the armies of the United Kingdom, Oman and Ukraine. The tank was designed by BAE Systems Land & Armaments as a private venture in 1986 and was an extensive redesign of the Challenger 1 tank. The British Ministry of Defense commissioned the first prototype in December 1988. Despite external similarities to the Challenger 1, design and technological developments mean that only around 3% of the components are interchangeable with the previous vehicle. This tank has a weight of 62.5 tons and is 8.3 meters long and 4.2 meters wide. It is operated by a commander, a gunner, a loader and a pilot. As primary armament, the Challenger 2 has a 120mm “Charm” cannon and as secondary armaments a 7.62mm Belgian L-94A1 machine gun and a 12.7mm Browning M2. Ukrainians often call the Challenger 2 the English carriage with automatic transmission Challenger 2 tanks are already in service with the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Heavy tanks and i have to see how this all works out in muddy terrain/fall. |

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread V
As 40 countries discuss peace for Ukraine, Medvedev says Kyiv ‘must beg for mercy.’ “There were different views, but all the participants demonstrated their countries' commitment to the principles of the UN Charter, international law, and respect for the sovereignty and inviolability of the territorial integrity of states,” said Andriy Yermak, the head of the President’s Office. Meanwhile, Russia's Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev, known for spreading xenophobic remarks, said on Aug. 6 that Kyiv "must beg Moscow for mercy." |
