Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread V
As for the 737-800 it still had audio jacks in the handrests and somebody said (not me btw!) when another person asked what they would play through them as there were no video screens during the flight; “probably an audiobook of Mein Kampf” that should probably be added to my post. It shows that even Western Europeans are aware of the link with Ukraine. The fact that Google still shows articles like: https://www.timesofisrael.com/ukrain...in-kampf-cake/ Is also a protest because Google should follow the Ukraine media guidelines and just censor anything that goes against it. But yeah, they rather protest instead. Probably a lot of people with Jewish friends at Google then (which is always a good thing anyway) |

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread V
**moved from the main media thread. Sorry I didn't get to this before the thread was closed... I pm'd you about the first post you made about the numbers. You can't really judge anything about the amount of fighting going on based on the numbers being reported. A. They're not 100% reliable. B. As SDI said, the smaller number of casualties maybe smaller just because it's smaller scale skirmishes going on. They've got other things they're doing as well. C. They're concentrating on weakening Russia right now, it seems. Look at the amount of artillery/mlrs they claim destroyed since a month before the counteroffense started, it speaks volumes as to what they're actually doing. We were actually discussing that actively here in the forum before they started the CO. There has also been a huge spike in the amount of crucial military targets that Ukraine has hit including ammunition depots, bases and logistical targets such as bridges and railways. We can only surmise what's going on, as I've said many times, twice already today, we're not on the ground. We are not a part of the government of any country involved so we can't possibly know the strategies playing out. But based on what I'm seeing in the last two months... Ukraine is taking it slow and steady while hitting targets that will cripple the Russians in fighting back. Zelenskyy, and others have said that they are not rushing things as to keep their own losses at a minimum. But maybe another reason the Russian losses are lower is because many groups are retreating and running from positions back to the main line of defense.

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread V
Zelensky is not even that old; also his predecessor started it. He might have promised to honour the Minsk agreements but his own people were already threatening to kill or overthrow him if he did, so I don’t blame him for escalating the conflict and saying he was going to retake Crimea and whatever. It was that or be killed.
