Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread V

Dammit. L'Jubo's Drag Race is fun to fuck with. I've not been banned from a thread (yet) but I was thought that viewing the thread was still allowed, just couldn't reply. Apparently I am incorrect.

If I was banned from a thread that I was a regular contributor to, I would be livid if I could see all posts but couldn't add my own - especially if there was smack talk directed at me.
Honestly I don't know for sure. I just thought if you're banned from a thread you can click on it but will get a screen that says it can't be access.

Not sure lol

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread V

Now that the ZSU is really hammering home this offensive on Zaporizhia.

Remember when the Kherson offensive was hyped up for months, everyone waiting for the big push after some initial success down there and then Russian held Kharkiv oblast was suddenly and quickly attacked, folding up the entire Russian line and Ukraine took thousands of square kilometers in like 3-5 days?

Yeah. That
I've been waiting for more moments like those!

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread V

Has someone seen any news from Russia, about the execution of the Ukrainian soldier.
Whats the Russian position on that?
Do they deny it?
Do they even acknowledge it?

I haven't seen any official word on the execution from Russian official sources. But there are plenty of Russian telegram (unofficial) milbloggers and wannabe's completely condoning it and encouraging more of the same.

Based on ljubudrag's take on it... I'm sure there are RU sources reporting that it's Ukrainian soldiers pulling the trigger.

I will keep an eye on for any official Russian statements about it, but I won't hold my breath.

EDIT: when he was first identified, I saw pro-UA sources reporting two different names and different units that he was a part of. Still seeing some of that due to sources just parroting other sources, but the information I posted in the media thread about his identification is what official UA sources are reporting, so I went with that information.

The different info I'm seeing from non official UA sources said his body had been recovered and bullet holes matched what was seen in the video. But official sources are stating that his body has not been recovered as the execution took place in an occupied region.

A video (18+) from unknown operators is actively spreading on the Internet . The frame shows the moment of execution of a fighter in the form of the Armed Forces of Ukraine . Apparently, the execution was filmed on video, writes Voennoye delo .

You can see that the military man was slowly finishing his cigarette and was not tied up. Before being shot, he uttered the words "glory to Ukraine."

Someone may assume that the soldier was captured by the RF Armed Forces.

It is worth noting that Russian soldiers constantly demonstrate their mercy to opponents. It cannot be ruled out that the execution occurred by his comrades.

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread V

I like the prase "cant rule out" :D

You can use it to avoid any criticism and make any claims you want.

"We can't rule out that it was Jubo Drag who executed those people. He has demonstrated his willingness to do so, and we dont know where he was at the time of that murder"

"We can't rule out that it was Putin who executed that soldier. We dont know Putins exact location or what his aliby is."

"We can't rule out that this guy who got executed wasn't an alien xenomorph shapeshifter, working for the United States."

I mean...go on, start ruling those options out :D

A stop at nothing to use the "Plausible Deniability" element.

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread V

Hmmmm. Things are definitely "Ramping Up" in the Aviation area.
I personally like the charismatic F-14 "Tomcat" but when it comes to new generation fighters, I suppose the F-18 "Hornet" will do in this instance BUT if I had a choice, I would definitely pick the F-16 "VIPER" Multi-Roll Fighter, not only for the overall armament options but the power to weight ratio & tighter turning circle with it being a very small, nimble aircraft & along with low radar signature make it ideal for hammering ruskie equipment.

Speed & Target Aquisition is vital in the air & IMO the F-18 "Hornet" is a bulkier plane making it slower & more cumbersome to operate in this kind of environment as IMO, it's predominantly an air to ground war & the "VIPER" is a much more effective aircraft in this area, kind of like an A-10 but with long range air to air capabilities in case any ruskie MIG's decide to show up.
I've gathered from your photo and some other things you've talked about that you have experience and knowledge in aviation. Would love to hear your experience with airplanes/jets sometime. Were you in a pilot?
