Yes, you are right... politicians here, there, everywhere... are less than trustworthy people. But so are human beings in general. Politics only amplifies the corruptive, self-serving behaviors of humans over all. Except these are the people that represent us and rule over us. It's kind of fucked up to think about how powerless we actually are. All of us, really, who aren't high up on the political totem pole.
