Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread II
Getting rid of the russians was the main goal. The Jews were just a bonus to them: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Holocaust_in_Estonia As for denazification, https://www.google.com/search?q=dena...max%3A1-1-2022 It does not mean murdering anybody who identifies as Nazi, although that could be considered a bonus I guess |

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread II
First, "I knew ur from Baltics I assume it's a joke since I don't know anyone from the Baltics who hated Russia before the war. Even now, most don't hate Russian people, they hate their dictator. In general, Russians have better life and more opportunities in the Baltics, than they have in most of Russia( when excluding the top tier cities ) The sad thing is, that Russian government has spent decades spreading misinformation and anti-baltic propaganda in Russia, so there are actually a lot of Russians who believe that crap. "I’m not from there and not going to battle you here" There is no battle to be had. I told you how things are. If you don't like it...there is nothing else to do. People who were occupied by Russia sided with the nazis, not because they wanted nazism in their country, but because they wanted to get rid of the Russians. Noone gave our countries a choice. People who fought on the nazi side fought for their country...not for the nazis. You should really try to put things into perspective and try to understand what it means to live under an authoritarian regime that controls the media and information. History is written by the victorious. Russians won, and they wrote the history of the soviet occupation their way, and many Russians to this day don't understand why so many chose to side with the nazis. "Historically are you guys closer to Germany/Austria or eastern lands?" We are completely separate from both of them, and in general, Estonians were mostly left alone by the Germans and the German occupation was an improvement over the Soviet occupation. German hatred was narrow and limited towards certain minorities. Russian hatred was broad and targeted everyone. |

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread II
And i thought that major rusophobs comes from the rotten anglo-saxon USA (without which there has not been a single episode of putin's TV "news" since 2000), whose pushovers are Poland, the Balts, the Ukrainian Nazis.... Shame on you Balts - world's main ruSSian häters

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread II
1. I wasn't talking about all people of Estonia in this case. Based on my experience here on DR I've noticed that the most notorious members of this site who hates Russia/Soviets are from there ...or Poland. So anytime I see post like that thats what im assuming. 2. There is an Estonian writer, I forgot his name, who was often invited to Rus political shows and he was protecting Estonia and tried to explain why and what. He was the first who made me look at it from a different perspective, the one you are talking about. Between the two evil you chose the better one, at least thats how your people saw it then, well and now I assume. Thats why I said im not from there, meaning I didn't soak in your part of the story and will not try to prove anything. Im from Krimea originally, everyone on my moms side are Ukrainians. So im usually debating here about what I and my family experienced and know. Every time Whiskey brings up experience of his family with the soviets I do not say anything in return, because I understand. 3. Well I know that Estonians were trustworthy within Germans. And I think for Germans wasn't a problem to get some recruits from the Baltics for their SS battalions. Since SS was an elite, I know Germans didn't take just anybody there...thats why I assumed maybe there is some sort of a blood mix or something what made them think you are practically one of their own. Anyhow, this is your history, with my people it wasn't as pleasant as you know. Germans were practically terminating people of USSR. Calling them pigs that not worth of living etc. Your people are closer to western Ukrainians (Austro-Hungarians) in terms of who was the enemy and was an enemy of my enemy. But for central/eastern Ukraine it was different. I don't need to tell you what Germans were doing to civilians and the way it was done. USSR consisted of way over 150 nationalities. A lot of them had their own Heros of Soviet Union, including Estonians btw. So when you say:"German hatred was narrow and limited towards certain minorities. Russian hatred was broad and targeted everyone." Ill just politely say - disagree. And lets call it end of a day. |
