Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread II

Not going into ethics but let’s say this is a wounded UKR soldier and a RU drone operator kills him, would you consider that a war crime? Not this video obviously but wounded Ukrainian soldier being killed by a Russian operator? That has to be a war crime no?

Edit: becbunzen
Thanks, that was my point. So it is not a war crime if wounded Russians are being killed because they didn’t sign any convention, understandable
It’s not a war crime until they surrender. If you’re still on the field of battle you are still an enemy combatant. It’s your side’s responsibility to evacuate you from the field.

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread II

It can be a crime war, but Russian don't respect the conventions, why respect against them?
It is the same with the civilians in former eastern Ukraine; they are allowed to be killed by artillery fire and nobody ‘in the global community’ even cares.

Some posters here to me are the personification of the ‘global community’ with their disgusting head in the sand apologist line of arguing

“If they don’t like being killed by the Ukrainian military then maybe they should not have been trying to become independent?”

Whereas a single dead civilian in another region, because the army used them as shields, is the most disgusting war crime imaginable..

And Amnesty? Paid Russian shills
Washington Post? Paid Russian shills

Come on now
They cannot decide wether to stick their head in the sand or in their ass basically

War is war and civilians die indirectly. The difference between Ukraine and Russia is that Russia is slaughtering civilians directly and burying the ones that want Ukraine to stay Ukraine in mass graves. Easy to say that everyone who voted for Russian annexation lives and the ones that want to stay Ukraine are murdered.

Also to say they want independence is blatantly false because at best they are trading one country for another. Not independence as you claim.

The reality is those Ukrs who didn’t want to have nothing with Ukraine vol.2014 are getting disappear, killed god knows what else. So if you are talking about intentional civilian executions, you might looking in a wrong neighborhood

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread II

"The number of Russians fleeing the country to evade Putin's draft is bigger than the original invasion force, UK intel"
According to the Associated Press, as of Wednesday at least 194,000 Russians have fled to Georgia, Kazakhstan and Finland alone.

Bloomberg, citing data from the EU, Georgia, and Kazakhstan, put the figure at 200,000.

Those conservative estimates already exceed what the US had estimated to be the 190,000-strong invasion force that massed at Ukraine's border just prior to the invasion.

I have a feeling this partial mobilization will go smooth and pretty quick. In terms of there are a lot of people who wants to go and fight
Who remembers this comment a few weeks ago?

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread II

Looks like Putin is throwing a party for the annexation...since this wont be recognized by Ukr or the international community...I doubt Ukrainian forces will pull back...wouldn't be surprised to see a tactical nuke deployed in the coming weeks.

What makes you think I was wrong? They didn’t struggle at all to get 300,000. Plus I think numbers are actually higher
