Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread II
Since 2014, Ukraine has been in a state of undeclared war. Part of its territory is illegally annexed by a neighboring state, part is temporarily occupied by the same state as an aggressor, and part of it is being fought. Almost one and a half million citizens of Ukraine were forced to leave their homes and go to the territory under the control of the Ukrainian authorities in search of protection, and often just salvation. Donbas is predominantly Russian-speaking and after Russia seized Crimea in 2014, its proxy forces captured more than a third of Ukraine's east in a war that never came to an end. The Russian proxies created so-called people's republics that nobody recognised and Russia now plans to capture the rest of the east. Luhansk and Donetsk may be broadly Russian-speaking, but they are no longer pro-Russian. One Ukrainian opinion poll in May 2022 suggested 82% of Ukrainians in territory seized by Russia since the 24 February invasion had a negative attitude to Moscow. https://en.interfax.com.ua/news/general/834975.html What Donbas residents want for their future Responses for 2019, based on 906 respondents in government-controlled areas of Donbas and 962 in separatist-controlled areas of Donbas. https://theconversation.com/most-peo...-survey-124849 Do people in Donbas want to be ‘liberated’ by Russia? https://www.washingtonpost.com/polit...ublic-opinion/ |

From the Charity "Ukrainian Sunflower" "Our Ukrainian defenders found this dog. She was very scared and afraid to approach people. Later, our boys realized that her ears were cut off. Now the dog is safe."

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread II
Just saw this but going to read up on it now. "Meduza: Kremlin to hold back on illegal annexation of Ukrainian territories. According to independent Russian media outlet Meduza, the annexation will be postponed as it now won't have the desired "PR effect" on the Russian population that is dissatisfied with mobilization." EDIT Sources Kyiv Independent: https://kyivindependent.com/news-fee...am-referendums If the Kremlin has postponed, RT is not reporting it: https://www.rt.com/russia/563657-lug...putin-message/ This is the only thing on Meduza I can find: https://meduza.io/en/news/2022/09/28...he-referendums So WHO KNOWS. lol

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread II
In 7 months and 4 days, Russia has sustained the same amount of military deaths in Ukraine that the US sustained in over a decade of fighting in Vietnam. I used to take these casualty #'s with a grain of salt, but seeing as how woeful the situation is for Russia currently, and more cracks showing, these reports seem increasingly accurate. |

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread II
In the end of July CIA director estimates 15000 killed, British intelligence estimated 20000. And Russian BBC together with "mediazona" ( foreign agent in Russia) and volunteers found only confirmed dead soldiers around 6500. Ukraine - 58150. With arithmetic mean to be 25000 |

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread II
Well, in this case I could agree. Every story has two sides to it don't they? So, if ill say that every government funded media source will support its sponsors narratives, but at the same time they don't have to lie, but instead cherry pick the subject they can gain more on..and do what they were hired to do. Will you folks agree with me? or not god damit |

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread II
From your source, in the exact article: “ The sample did not include residents of territories that were temporarily not controlled by the Ukrainian authorities until February 24, 2022 (AR of Crimea, Sevastopol, certain districts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions), and the survey was not conducted with citizens who went abroad after February 24, 2022.” |

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread II
The Kremlin is expected to close all Russians borders today or tomorrow as tens of thousands of Russians are fleeing their country to escape the mass military mobilisation that is currently underway.

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread II
Nothing against Whiskey (I mean friends call him Whiskey right? :P), but it is just selective believing. Choose your own narrative basically. Ukraine is like a men/woman at the same time. With the woman part being their own casualties, and the men part being the russian casualties. Like a man say: “I slept with 20 women” (/we killed 60.000 russians); you have to divide that number by at least 3. When I woman says “I slept with 4 guys” (/we suffered 5.000 casualties); you have to multiply that number by at least 3. The selective believing part is; when Ukraine said: we are losing 500 people a day. Some people here don’t want to believe it, so they start their coping process; “they are probably exaggerating to get more US funding, clever! I know they are soooo strong and brave and will never suffer that much losses, unlike the russians lol” I am not saying this is Whiskeys train of thought, but it should be recognisable in one way I understand you guys believe you are on the right side of history, which explains the coping strategies, and you very well could be on the right side of history, but yeah, it’s how the brain operates |
