Re: Russian Invasion Ukraine Day 82/83/84/85/86 (May 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th, 21th)

- Ukrainian Su-25's #aircraft

- Ukrainian operating an American Mk.19 40mm grenade launcher. I remember firing these, they were great for close/medium range but super inaccurate at long ranges

- Ukrainian #sniper position somewhere in the east, looks like two .308 chambered rifles

Last video - it looks like new Ukranian made semi-automatic sniper rifle UAR-10 (7,62x51 - which is NATO standard) which suppose to substitute Soviet SVD.

Yup, 7.62x51mm has extensive use in NATO armies. Especially the US, UK. Weapons like these (the sniper weapons) will have higher quality ammo for accuracy. I reload these rounds in my garage.

You wouldn't believe how much $$$ Soviet SVD's are worth here. Not because of their quality, but their Soviet "cold war" era value.

Could they be Chinese/Indian made like AK? Also Bulgaria used to make them too. I think it’s hard to find, well at least AK which was mad in Russia. Not sure about SVD tho

There were so many SVD copies made by various countries, mainly communist. The Chinese, Bulgarians, Romanians, Polish, others. One of my college buddies has a Romanian PSL.

I have two AK's - a Serbian M92 and one mostly American "Rifle Dynamics" AK-74 with a couple Russian parts. Russian bakelite magazines (they're the best).

I've seen some Ukranian and Russian troops on Telegram with Soviet-era Dragunov SVD's.

Soviet SVD's are less accurate and lower quality than modern NATO weapons. In the past, that wasn't the case. Point in case: The M16A1 (a garbage American Vietnam era weapon) versus the Chinese made Type 56 which was a copy of the Russian AKM, which was an improvement of the original AK-47. The Type 56 was a vastly superior weapon.

Soviet SVD's are incredibly valued here in the US because of their cold war era historic value. Very unique looking and "evil". The prices they sell for on Gunbroker.com are insane.
